The cute cat / Die süße Katze

Mrrrr, it's summer and I'm freezing!
Will take a bath, as soon as the washing machine is finished.

My cat woke me up this morning, like she does sometimes. This time she was *so* cute... She came and sat next to my head, watching me (kinda scary), as soon as she noticed I am slightly awake. She does that often, but this time I wanted to go on sleeping (and dreaming), so I didn't react And this time was the first time she reached out with her paw, touching me on my arm, in a 'hey, wake up, i am here!'-way. SO cute :D So I couldn't resist and rollend onto my back and she climbed on my chest and started to... knead (how is that called, what cats do? like... walking on the spot...) there. I prefer if she lays down after a while, but she rarely does that.

We planed to sell things at a flea-market today, but the weather is not really good enough, so we will do it on some weeks, after fuchs' finals.

Also: The last episode of the second six feet under season has SUCH a mean cliffhanger... Not very nice, no, no.

Mrrrr, es ist Sommer und ich friere!
Ich denke ich nehme gleich ein Bad, sobald die Waschmaschine fertig ist.

Meine Katze hat mich heute morgen aufgeweckt, wie sie das eben manchmal tut. Aber diesmal war sie *so* niedlich dabei... Sie kam zu mir und setzte sich neben meinen Kopf umd mich zu beobachten (was irgendwie unheimlich ist), als sie merkte, dass ich ein klein wenig wach bin. Sie macht das öfter, aber diesmal wollte ich noch weiterschlafen (und träumen), also hab ich nicht reagiert. Und da hat sie diesmal doch tatsächlich ihre Pfote ausgestreckt und mich am Arm berührt, in so einer 'Hey, wach auf, ich bin jetzt hier'-Manier. SO süß :D Da konnte ich nicht widerstehn und habe mich auf meinen Rücken gedreht und sie ist auf meine Brust geklettert und fing an zu treteln. Ich finde es besser, wenn sie sich nach einer Weile hinlegt, aber das tut sie fast nie.

Wir haben heute eigentlich geplant, uns auf einen Flohmarkt zu stellen und Sachen zu verkaufen, aber das Wetter ist nicht wirklich gut genug, also machen wir das in ein paar Wochen, wenn Fuchs' Prüfungen vorbei sind.

Außerdem: Die letzte Folge der zweiten Six Feet Under Staffel hat ja mal SO einen fiesen Cliffhanger... gar nicht nett, nein, nein.

My hostmom in the US called the kneading behavior of cats "kitty biscuits", but that may not be a part of English vocabulary, seeing that my hostmom used rather strange words sometimes. But it's called "kneading". ;)

You were an exchange student in the US? Where? Did you enjoy it?

I was an exchange student in Goettingen, in '86/'87, and had a great time... though it was cold. (I'm from southern Arizona, which is a desert, so even in the summer there, I was wearing sweaters).

I was in North Carolina, near Wilmington, back in 95/96, and yeah, it was tons of fun, of course. It was also a lot warmer than here and there was the Atlantic ocean, which made the stay pretty much perfect.

Oddly enough, I'm familiar with that area... my first college degree came from North Carolina State University, in Raleigh. Wilmington's a pretty nice area.

One of the nice things about living in Raleigh was that I could travel a few hours and be at the beach, or a few hours in the other direction, and be at the mountains. A wide range of recreation choices available at my fingertips.

Aber wie du auf das unglücklich kommst... auf dem Bild liegt sie auf dem Rücken und schaut mich groooooooß an. Ich habs nur umgedreht :)

ach so, wenn das Foto umgedreht ist. Aber wenn man die so anschaut wie es ist, dann scheint die Katze unglücklich zu sein. Sie hat einen seltsamen Gesichtsausdruck: Man sieht sogar die Zähne. Die Augen sind auch ganz gross, als ob sie gleich durchdreht. Und die Ohren sind flach zu den beiden Seiten gelegt.
Ich hab auch andere Bilder angeschaut, da ist die ganz nett.

heh, danke, aber ich weiß viel über katzenmimik. ich weiß was angelegte ohren heißen etc. aber sie lag nur auf dem rücken, vertrauenvoll ihren bauch präsentierend, die lage bedingte, das man ihre zähne sah (was öfter vorkommt, einfach, weil sie eben lange vampirzähnchen hat) und dazu noch hab ich sie bespielt, was ihre augen aufmerksam groß sein ließ.

i have to. :o/ my skin kills me when i just shower, because it doesnt like the pure water without any oily stuff in it.

mine too. but she was NOT cute. in fact, she was the opposite. a fat old disabled meowing scratching perverted puking furball. not really a ball with her size. maybe rather a furplanet. im sure if she ever manages to catch a mouse, then the mouses corpse will orbit around the cat as her moon.

but im sure ill pet her anyway next time she jumps on my lap. :o/

Yes, that's the word. The earlier person who mentioned "making kitty biscuits" is an allusion to the meaning of the word knead, which is what you do with bread dough to mix the yeast in, so it will rise.
