Even more bullet-point tales
May. 20th, 2009 10:02 am* Bob gave me his camera, yay! So I have something as long as I'm here at least and can take more photos. Still I miss my own cam *sigh*.
* I started to drink black tea here o.O
* Nairobians are very touchy-feely.
* Did my first interview yesterday! It was a hawker, he sells sweets and cigarettes to people passing by (mobile workplace). Had quite some interesting things to tell.
* Very, very nice crossdressing ad, seen in arcadijs journal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFJnS_KXOVc
Watch it, it's worth it :)
* For a change it's really nice to be in a country where being thin is NOT the beauty standard. Actually, thin girls are really trying to gain some weight here (not to unhealthy amounts, but to 'looking female' amounts).
* I miss fast an reliable internet. Especially reliable. I wouldn't mind to wait for pages to load - as long *as* they load. I hate the proxy settings here. I've seen an uncountable amount of proxy doesn't allow this or that pages in the last week. And this while needing to do research? Bah!
* @cos: We've not been at crescent island, unfortunatly. We wanted to go, but in the end it was not easly possible for various reasons. But it was nice at the lake anyway :)
* I am amazed at my own vocabulary o.O At least I am often asked for words here or know the answer, if someone is randomly asking :)
* We've been to an expensive indian restaurand yesterday evening (were invited by our professor). Expensive meant a main dish was 5 Euro. It was very high class and the meals delicious (but a bit too hot for my taste, even if we requested mild).
Gotta go again!

Date: 2009-05-21 05:04 am (UTC)Katy and I had samosas at a place called Happy Eater (weird name for an Indian restaurant, isn't it?) and each of us had to have two glasses of passion fruit juice for each samosa. Eek! They were tasty though.
