Dec. 7th, 2006 10:02 am* That is one of my new favourite words.
* Awww, LJ has a Seasonal Greetings navigation! How nice... even with northern light :)
* The hand in... well, I handed in in the last seconds. Literally. I didn't even really had time to panic, except when I didn't manage to get the binding thing to hold the papers together. *siiigh* There was no presentation or anything, we all just had to put our stuff on a table. I think I passed, but not with the most wonderful grade. Julia got her feedback yesterday, I'll get mine today.
All that was pretty new and nearly to the last day it was not so 100% clear for us, who didn't do all that last year. Even asking people often brought up different answers. But weill, next term we know better and can prepare better. Without the occational getting lost in school, having things to organise and this time with the awareness that yes, we can use the plastic workshop to make our models and knowing, ah, this is a design journal and, ah, this is a design management log.
* Pans Labyrinth is a very nice movie, if you like fairytales. But beware, it's quite bloody. Has nice pictures and very good actors, the story is not overly complicated, it's a fairytale after all. Go, watch it!
* The Prestige is a very nice movie as well! Just saw it yesterday (the other one last week). At first I had slight problems following the timeline jumps, but then it worked and well, it was quite exciting at times and the end... oh, well, go and see it :)
As the movie started there was no sound for like two minutes or something. Someone went out of the room to tell someone, nothing happened, somebody else went out, after he asked the audience if they also wanted to restart the movie (it seemed to be important what was said in the beginning) and everybody said yes. After a while we got sound, but the movie wasn't restarted.
After the movie the manager came in and excused himself for the lacking sound and said everybody could come to the cashier and claim his money back, as in, the complete entry fee. Additional to that everybody got one free ticket for any movie in the same cinema chain. Now if that isn't customer service.
*The Rotersand concert was very, very cool, as always :) Lot's of jumping around,
alexmc had joined me and I met
stellalive and I bought my first band t-shirt in, err, 6 years ;)
* This week we wanted to explore London some more, as we had NO time the last few weeks to do that in any way, but our plans were blighted on tuesday, as our tutor told us on monday that there will be a special one day project on tuesday. Only half of the people were there and I can't say it was that helpful, but, oh well, we took part. Was about brands and brandvalues.
Yesterday we went to the John Soan House after Julia had her Feedback. He was an architect and collector and eventually his house full of antiques became a museum. After that we went to Santas Ghetto, an art exhibitions where also Banksy had some pieces, I already saw it two days before as I tried to do some christmas shopping on Oxford street. It was quite interesting.
The last exhibition for that day was something about 60 designers/60 questions, all of them graduates of the Central Saint Martins. Some of the stuff displayed there was interesting, some was... well, not so good.
After that some more shopping, then cinema (The Prestige, see above).
* Today, after my feedback, we're going to the Tate Modern again, checking if the slides are halfway free. After that we go to the design museum. And as I was just told, in the evening we're going to a pub.
* I'd love to translate that, but I have to go now, so, next time... or later. Before I forget: Does anybody want something from London that I should bring along? Should not be too big/heavy and not too hard to get. Any christmas wishes?

So what appeals so much about Paul Auster? I have only read one book of his - a graphic novel City of Glass (I think) (I used to be very interested in books)

Does anybody want something from London?
