Sooo, finally, another post, new photos :)
Es ist viel, viel passiert. Und es haben sich wieder so einige Bilder angesammelt, jetzt komme ich endlich dazu, sie zu posten. Eventuell ist die Reihenfolge nicht chronologisch, sondern eher nach Thema sortiert. Und eigentlich ist da noch mehr, aber ach, ich fang einfach mal an, sonst komme ich ja gar nicht nach...
Much, much happened. And again I've gathered quite some pictures and I'll finally post them. Maybe they are not in chronological order, but rather sorted by theme. And actually there is even more, but oh well, I will just start or I'll never be able to get done whats left...
Living
Julia hat keine Bleibe gefunden, die bezahlbar war oder irgendwie günstig gelegen gewesen wäre und Alex war so lieb, sie auch noch aufzunehmen. Hier 'ziehen wir grade um'... nein, wir haben den Einkaufswagen nicht geklaut. Er stand in der Nähe der Tubestation und die Tasche war wirklich fies schwer. Fürs Ausleihen haben wir den Wagen dann später auch bis zum Tesco zurück gefahren :)
Julia didn't find a place to stay which was really affordable or in a good place and Alex was so kind to take her in also. Here we are 'moving'... and no, we didn't steal that trolley. It was standing near the tube station and that bag was so damn heavy. Because we lended it we even brought it back to Tesco afterwards :)
Alex kocht! Er ist ein echt guter Koch :D Und er macht es gerne und oft/normalerweise kocht er nicht nur für sich, heh. Leckerst. Aber Norman, Alex' Mitbewohner, kocht auch gut.
Alex cooking! He's a great cook :D And he likes to do so and often/usually he doesn't cook only for himself, heh. Deliciousness. But Norman, who also lives here, cooks good as well :)

Auflösung: Julia hat mir die Haare gefärbt :) Es war einfach wieder nötig. Wie sonst auch habe ich zwei Packungen gekauft, weil eine bei meiner Haarlänge normal nicht reicht. Ich weiß nicht, ob in englischen Packungen mehr drin ist oder ob Julia das Zeug so geschickt verteilt hat... jedenfalls hab ich im Endeffekt doch nur eine Packung gebraucht. Englisches Färbezeug ist flüssiger als deutsches, zumindest dieses.
Answer: Julia helped me coloring my hair :) It just had to be done again. Like always I bought two packs, because I usually needed two at the lenght of my hair. I don't know if there is more in english packages or if Julia managed to put this stuff so well on my hair... in the end we just needed one pack. English coloring stuff is more liquid than german, at least this one.
School
In der Schule hatten wir in der zweiten Woche einen Vortrag, Mittwochs Morgens. Die ganzen Produktdesign-Studenten waren eingeladen. Es war nicht Unterricht in dem Sinne, aber alle Dozenten, die irgendwie was mit Produktdesign zu tun haben, egal aus welchem Jahr, haben sich vorgestellt. Das schwankte zwischen 'interessant' und 'Selbstbeweihräucherung'. Die Frau rechts im Bild hat alles in Gebärdensprache übersetzt.
In school we had a lecture, on wednesday morning in the second week. All product design students where there. It wasn't teaching or anything, but rather the professors telling us about them. All that was between interesting and self-adulation. The woman on the right in the photo is translating everything into sign language.
Wir haben, wie ich glaube ich schon erwähnt habe, eine 'Elective' zusätzlich zu unserem Hauptprojekt. Das ist so ne Art wissenschaftliches Seminar. Das da oben ist der Stapel an Kopien von zwei Wochen, natürlich beidseitig ;) Waaaah! Und jede Woche kommt noch mal ähnlich viel dazu und alles Englisch, puh!
We also have, like I think I told you already, an 'Elective' every week, next to our main course. They are similar to our scientific courses in the KISD. This here is the amount of reading material of two weeks, both sides used always, sure :) Waaah! And every week a similar bunch is added and everything in english, phew!
Das ist das Schulcafe, ein paar Stockwerke über dem Raum in dem wir immer unsere Treffen haben. Julia versuchte hier nen Job zu kriegen, hat leider nicht geklappt, die hatten schon zu viele Leute aus dem zweiten Jahr.
The cafeteria in the school, a few floors above the room where our course takes place. Julia tried to get a job there, didn't work out unfortunatly, they already got enought 2nd year students.
Noch ein Treppenhaus in der Schule. Es gibt mindestens vier.

Shopping and going out
Letztes Wochenende ist Julia spontan nach Hause geflogen und Alex war auch nicht da... also war ich allein. Ich hab den Samstag Vormittag vertrödelt, wollte Nachts eigentlich ins Slimelight. Da war ich in der Woche vorher mit Benni gewesen, den ich auf Schwarzes Glück angesprochen hatte, weil bei ihm gestanden hatte, dass er ins Slimelight und in den Torture Garden geht und ich jemanden gesucht hatte, dem ich mich anschließen kann. Diese Woche aber war Benni nicht sicher, ob er da hin will und ich kenne da sonst ja noch niemanden, also war das noch nicht klar (im Endeffekt blieb ich daheim). So gegen 3 fand ich raus, dass der Portobello Markt, den ich schon gerne mal besuchen wollte, Samstags ist (jedenfalls die Stände vor den Geschäften sind nur Samstags auf). Also bin ich dann noch losgefahren, was nach vier da. Natürlich waren viele schon am Abbauen, aber nett war es trotzdem. Ich würde da gern mal mit Zorn hingehen, glaub ich.
Irgendwann werd ich da auch noch mal früher hin gehen.
Last weekend Julia flew home spontanously and Alex wasn't there as well... so I was alone. Saturday morning I was being lazy, at night I wanted to go to the Slimelight. I was there the week before with Benny, who I got to know over Schwarzes Glück, because I was looking for someone who goes there and to the Torture Garden, who can take me along. This week he wasn't sure if he will go there and I didn't want to go alone, as I knew noone there, so that was unsure (I stayed home that night). Around three I found out that Portobello Market is only open on saturdays. So I went there, even if I only arrived by half past four, when many people where already closing down their stands. But it was nice anyway. I'd like to go there with Zorn.
I'll go there again another time, earlier then.

Letzte Woche, uhm, Mittwoch, haben Alex und ich uns Abends in der Stadt getroffen, sind in die National Gallery gegangen und danach waren wir hier Essen. Ein ganz toller, entspannender Abend! Aber ich musste erstaunt feststellen, dass es in England keine Ente süß-sauer zu geben scheint, was ja bei uns ein sehr verbreitetes und beliebtes chinesisches Gericht ist.
Last week, err, wednesday, Alex and I met in the city in the evening, went to the National Gallery and eating out afterwards in this restaurant. It was a very nice and relaxing eveing! But I had to find out that in England Duck sweet sour seems to be unknown, even if it is a very famous chinese dish in germany.

Für Marion. Ein ganzer (kleiner, aber trotzdem) Raum nur für die GuerillaGirls. Ich musste so an sie denken, als ich da war.
For Marion. A whole (little, but still) room only for the GuerillaGirls. I so had to think of her when I was there.
Das hing an mehreren Stellen in der Tate. Merken, befolgen, ist sicher hilfreich.

Die derzeit in der Tate aufgebauten Rutschen. Leider konnten wir keine benutzen, es war zu voll und zu spät. Da müssen wir unter der Woche noch mal hingehen.
The slides which are in the Tate right now. Unfortunatly it was too full and too late to use them that day. We#ll have to go there again not on a weekend I guess.
National Gallery - das gefiel mir echt gut. Obwohl ich echt noch schauen muss, ob ich mir die Velaquez Ausstellung gebe, sind ja auch 12 Pfund, die das kostet o.O.

Wie erwähnt war ich vor zwei Wochen am Samstag im Slimelight. Ich hatte mich mit Benni verabredet, den ich auf Schwarzes Glück eben angeschrieben hatte, weil er hier in London wohnt und so trafen wir uns davor das erste Mal. Vom Slimelight hatte ich *viel* Gutes gehört - zu viel, denn ich hab deshalb sehr viel erwartet und war ein wenig enttäuscht. Altes Fabrikgebäude, umgebaut, als Location schon nett, aber... dreckig, echt dreckig, gab nur recht wenige Sitzgelegenheiten, der Boden klebte. Und stockduster. Naja, sehr dunkel auf jeden Fall, schminken ist da schon beinah für die Katz'. In dem einen Raum gab es kein Stroboskop, im anderen haben sie es nur während der Konzerte benutzt - blöd, für mich gehört Stroboskop zu der Musik. Aber die Musik war tatächlich ziemlich gut, so Elektro/Industrial eben. Außerdem scheinen da wirklich fast jedes Wochenende Bands zu spielen, also auch kleinere, was dann heißt, dass man keinen Extra-Eintritt zahlen muss.
Ja, dasss da oben ist meine Membership card :) Der reguläre Eintritt beträgt 8 Pfund (aua!), als Member 5 - manchmal haben Mitglieder vor 12 auch freien Eintritt. Und ich gedenke schon, bis März noch mindestens 4 mal hinzugehen - dann hat sich das gelohnt (die Mitgliedschaft kostet 10 Pfund).
Like I said I was in the Slimelight satureday two weeks ago. I met Benni there for the first time, to whom I talked to over Schwarzes Glück, because he lives in London. I heard *lots* of good stuff about the Slimelight - too much, probably. I had quite high expectations and was a bit dissapointed. Old factory building, now used as the club, sure a nice location, but... dirty, really, really dirty. Just a few places to sit at, the floor was sticky (eww). And it was dark. Like, really quite dark, putting on makeup nearly useless. In one room there was no stroboscobe, in the other they only used it at the concerts - stupid, as I think it fits this music quite well. Oh, well, the music was quite good, Electro/Industrial stuff. It seems there are bands playing nearly every weekend, many smaller ones, what means you don't have to pay extra to see them.
And yes, that up there is my memberschip card :) The normal entry is 8 pound (ouch!), as a member you pay 5 - and sometimes members get in for free before midnight. And I want to go there four times or more often until March, I guess, so that was worth it (the card cost 10 pound).

And yes, that up there is my memberschip card :) The normal entry is 8 pound (ouch!), as a member you pay 5 - and sometimes members get in for free before midnight. And I want to go there four times or more often until March, I guess, so that was worth it (the card cost 10 pound).
