A week later
Sep. 22nd, 2006 03:49 pmLondon
First of all: Thank you for all the nice comments to my last entry! I appreciated each one and I'm sorry I didn't reply to every single one but instead do it this way. You can imagine I'm quite stressed right now... ^^;;
So, what did I do?
I booked the flight! I'm going to London on october 2nd, to study at the Central St. Martins. for one semester/two trimesters. I plan to come back to cologne from around december the 8th to the beginning of january 2007, but I still don't know if this will be possible. I'll be gone again in jan/feb, but for sure I'll manage to be around lj. But I will probably finally shorten my friendslist :-/ I just will have to, I guess.
Do you know this phenomena, that as soon as you have to do with something new, it pops up all over the place? You never cared much about it or didn't know about it, but then you focus on it and then you see 'it' everywhere... Well, yesterday evening I found an article about the St. Martins in a german magazine called Neon. It was about the fashion design department mostly, but still interesting (and a bit scary) to read.
A friend will stay at my room, at least for two month, maybe more (?), that makes me very happy, as I trust her and so I can leave most of my stuff in my room. She will also have a look after my cat and also very important, she is also a friend of the others in the flat and so they don't have to host a stranger. At least they have time to pick someone for the other time, if she doesn't want / can't stay longer.
And I just got a place to stay!!!!11!!ONE!!! ;)
Phew, you can't believe how happy that makes me! Thank you a thousand times,
dougs for providing contact to your friend! I hope when I'm in London we will be able to meet :) You said you're always looking for models... well :) I'd offer myself, thats the least I can do as a thank you :)
Besides that I'm also still waiting for a mail from the one professor who organises this project, I still got some questions and he just doesn't answer :-/
I got an assload of stuff to do before I leave for London, so much actually, that I have problems to start somewhere. I guess I will start with making some important calls, for example about my health insurance. I also have to work as much as possible (and not write lj updates, damnit!).
Can someone possibly lend me a sleeping bag? I don't know if I will need one, but just in case... it would be nice to have one.
... damn, I will go to London! I can't believe it.
Austria
My holidays were nice! I'll upload a bunch of pics for your viewing pleasure later.
I got along with my grandparents very well, it was really great. Just my hip still hurts from walking so much :-/
Books
I finished reading 'Der Schwarm' and I really liked it, just... yeah, why did he have to kill nearly everybody? Oh well, I liked Johansson and Greywolf&Delaware, but at least Anawak&Weaver made it. They were my favourite characters anyway. I wonder if there will ever be a movie? Also, is there any Greywolf/Anawak slash? :)))
Now I started reading Fight Club. Next is Fool on the Hill or Maurice, der Kater, by Terry Pratchett.
Have to go on working! Ah, it's very annoying to make a nearly 200 page book-dummy... *sigh*
Sorry, no german! No time! Later!

Date: 2006-09-22 02:13 pm (UTC)Maurice wasn't Terry's best book. I'd recomend his "Tiffy Aching" books, especially as "Wintersmith is coming soon... :)

Date: 2006-09-23 07:10 am (UTC)Thanks about the spare sleeping bag, but it sounded as if Alex has a bed with everything I need for me :) I just found out about it. So no sleeping bag neccessary.
