Thought this might be enjoyable for some people on my flist. Seen at
dougs journal.
Today, the last Friday in July, the last Friday in every July, is international System Administrator Appreciation Day. Read the website:
Friday, July 28th, 2006, is the 7th annual System Administrator Appreciation Day. On this special international day, give your System Administrator something that shows that you truly appreciate their hard work and dedication.
So whenever your office computer boots up successfully in the morning, whenever your documents come out of the correct printer, whenever your emails get delivered promptly, whenever you go another day without losing access to the company database, take some time to feel good about the people behind the scenes who make sure all this stuff is still working. And, today, bundle all that feeling-good together and do something for the system administrators, to make sure that they realise that you appreciate their work.
Alternatively, if you're one of those totally wonderful people who do this valuable work, why not take a moment to enjoy the gratitude that your co-workers are showing you today.
A big THANK YOU from me too, to all the sysadmins who make everything work :)
