Women almost always put things down on their resume's if they are certain they can do them. Even if all the job requires is passing familiarity. Sorry, no. I can't write it unless I could do it standing on my head in a whirlwind.

Men, by contrast, include items that they have done before, or used, or have some comprehension of, whether or not they have mastery. They may highlight specific areas, but in general they include everything they have used. Yep, I used C back in 1989, so C++ is kind of close...

That seems like a pretty giant generalization. The thing is, if someone is applying for a technical job and the employer is half-smart, they'll require a technical interview which will require the applicant to show that they know C++. Pretty embarassing if they don't.

But do men probably stretch more on their resume' than women? My guess is probably so.
