Problem

It's about my camera. As you know, it is broken and can't be repaired.
At least I don't think so, because there are the same symptomes, as the last one (same model) had and it was not repairable (the had no replacing parts because the camera is so old).

Now, see this:

* * * * * * * * Camera 1 * * * * * * * *

Pros:
+ It's in ebay germany, so shipping will not be that expensive
+ It's not exactly the same camera, it's a smaller one and therefor it will be cheaper (about 40 Euro or so I guess)
+ It will be here quickly

Cons:
- It IS money, no matter how much I don' really have any money left right now, I should save it.
- It's not the same camera, there seems to be no macro function, which I used often, the zoom is not as good.
- It's 14 years old, if it breaks, there will be no replacible parts as well.

* * * * * * * * Camera 2 * * * * * * * *

Pros:
+ It's exactly the same camera I have now, I *know* it, I *know* it takes great photos
+ Even if it goes up to $70, it's a good price for it.

Cons:
- It's sold in the US, shipping will be very expensive.
- It this one breaks also, I still have no guarantee and it also maybe can't be repaired (if the reasons from the last two are a weakness).
- All in all I will *at least* pay $100, I don't have that money, transferring the money will also be expensive.
- It could take very long until it's here, I will/may not have it before I move.

* * * * * * * * No camera * * * * * * * *

Pros:
- I save the money which I need badly for colonge and the move there.
- I can later buy a better one.

Cons:
- I wanted to take photos of different people I rarely see, before I move to colonge (But maybe I could lend a camera for that, I'd have to do it anyway with 'camera 2')
- I can't take *any* photos right now.
- The 'buying another camera later' may result in a very long time without camera.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

So, what?
Comments? Suggestions?

I'd say borrow a camera, even if it's not a very good one, to take pictures before you leave for Cologne. And then ask for a new camera for Christmas?

lending a 'not so good' camera is not really a possibility for what i need.
i wanted to make nude photoshootings and such. i *need* a bit better camera for that.

Find a friend with a good camera then? A friend of a friend?

ok. i'd say no to the first, because you don't have a lot of money, why waste it on something you don't *really* want. you might get frustrated with it esp when you like the macro.
the next will indeed be expensive from america.

are there no good 2nd hand photography shops where you could have a look?
maybe opt for a camera that has the same functions as your current one but a bit newer...

maybe save a bit more money and get one you really want:)

oh, and maybe don't get the same one again as it seems to be breaking:)
