The house next to ours burned... until 20 minutes ago we stood outside on the street and watched the firemen working (we stood there like... 2 hours. i really thought we were only 30 to 45 minutes outside). It was more then scary... we thought the fire might be taking over to the house we live in, too, because the wind even was in the right direction for that.
As fuchs waked me and said I should look out of the window I just saw a bright orange light and was wondering what that was (just gotten up from sleep). Then I saw teh roof of the house next to ours was burning in bright light. I always thought fire is more yellow... might be a strange thought at that point, but... yeah. I paniked a bit like everyone else, din't know what or if to take something with me. And the cats where hiding! As soon as we got them in their baskets we went outside, but I managed to take two photos of the fire first. Down on the street we waited, looking at the firemen and such and just hoped nothing will happen to our stuuf.
I think the most frightening thing is, that we nearly would have moved into the flat next to the one that was burning... I mean, they said the fire didn't take over and all but still it would have been much more frightening.
I'm still quite irritated and all that, I mean you don't see the house next to yours burn that often... But I think I'll try to catch some sleep now.
